Somebody throw me a clue here...

Why would anyone ever need you to drop something for them to see it? That's what most of these scams seem to be about.

If you wanna see my loot, watch me wearing and holding it.

I've actually done that by accident before (like a year ago). Saw the guy spamming "WTB damask" thought he meant linen and offered the wrong thing. They are kinda easy to mix up. Honestly, I don't even think that guy was a scammer, just confused.

Yeah, a couple of the scams about "dropping stuff on the ground" is caused by people claiming they can "dupe" things. Whats great is, if you fall for that scam, you can't report the guy because you'll also get banned for trying to dupe (even though it doesn't work).

It's hilarious how poeple come up with new ways to scam scammers and make them look stupid. :P I haven't really ever been scammed directly. Just had arguments with other sellers over price and people offering me items instead of cash while selling and stuff like that.

Once there was a guy who was selling a green for 40k and when I asked it for 30k they started flaming me on local and trade chat non stop for it and went on about how the item would not leave their storage for that price even though I told them fine but 30k is my price. During all that another player saw my WTB and offered me the green for that price.(Maybe they felt sorry for me...) The last thing the flaming salesman said to me was "It's gonna be a long night for you" while I was already omw out of the outpost with the bought item in my hands... and they were still spamming trade chat to sell theirs.

I'm also guilty of the 100g=1g thing but seriously it was my first time trading ever. The seller got agitated even though I fixed the price and said I was sorry and just a harmless nubcake. They still sold me the stuff but I felt pretty stupid... :S

Dunno if it's already been posted, but there's this Thirsty River dupe trick that no-one ever uses but someone used it on me. Pity I emptied my screenie folder really.

So there's this guy, going I cna duup ur stufff. Lvl 17 warrior in pink armor, with 137 ectos.

So he goes you can trust me, this works, how else would I have 137 ecto's.

So we go to thirsty river, enter the mission and he tells me to stand in a rock. I stand in the rock. He walks like a mile away, then tells me to drop my stuff, count to 3, pick it up. He also tells me it has to be something really valuable, because it can only be done once per account, bla bla bla. This guy wants 50% profit though O.o

So I go, well, okay, I know whats coming. I drop a white staff, and he rages, fool, you ruined it.

Turns out he was going to talk to the Ghostly Hero in that mission and simply outrace me for my stuff. Yaright. It's even on wiki.

He worked it out pretty good though, typed in correct english, whole sentences, dots, comma's, capitals and everything. I rate this scam 7/10, as it's pretty hard to see what's coming, even though the whole drop-ur-shizl is as suspicious as a freaked out banana asking you to eat your shoes.

Didn't see this one mentioned, although I've only seen it once and didn't fall for it...

I can't remember the exact green but I was in one of the trading hubs looking to buy some green and this guy pms me and says he's got it. We agree on the price, and he opens trade and puts it in. Except, it's customized. I think to myself "this guy must think I'm a real idiot if he thinks I'm going to buy a customized green.". So I cancel trade and he pms me "?" and I said "That item is customized, I cannot buy that." and he disappears, never heard from him since.

I once saw a guy in Ascalon City, asking for a runner to Ascalon for 2k.
Not sure if it was a scam, or if he was just very confused, but it was pretty funny.

Unfortunately, I never got a screenshot.

Well if I read you right, that was someone asking to be run from Ascalon to Ascalon and willing to pay 2k. That's not a scam, it's probably some buffoon making what they think is a joke. If on the other hand you meant to type that they were selling a run from A to A for 2k, then yeah, it would be a scam. Although a pretty dense one.

i kinda scammed a guy last night despite my best effort, I was clearing out some inventory in storage for next to nothing (equip reqs and stuff), 50gold each. I just wanted to get rid of them. So a guy comes up and offers to buy my monastery credits. I tell him 100 gold for 2, he goes an puts up 2 gold... i tell him no its 100 gold. He then puts of 200 gold... i tell him thats too much. So he puts 2 gold back in... THis went on and on for about 5 minutes and eventually i just took teh damn 200 gold. I felt bad but after the amount of time wasted i should have just given them away lol

I loled I only really ever trade with my guildies so I haven't come across any scammer. Although, most of these stories are pretty funny.

I don't sell things to them, we trade stuff. If someone needs something I have, I give it to them but like with the guild "vault" (mule char) we put something in to take something out.

I hate idiots who think trying to negotiate trade prices are scammers. How the hell is it a scam if I ask to buy an item for 35k intead of 38k (not offer, just ask in whispers). If you agree to it, its not a scam. If you don't agree to it then I don't buy it, and its not a scam.
Some people are just morons/youngens.
